Last updated: 29 October 2026. This policy applies to the Foster app published by Clearpoint Studios (clearpointstudios@proton.me). Foster is free, has no ads and no in-app purchases.
What stays on your device. The people you add and everything you record about them: names, how often you want to stay in touch, phone numbers, profile links, groups, birthdays and other occasions, portraits you pick, moments, notes and voice memos, plus your settings and reminders. None of this is ever uploaded. There is no account and no sign-in.
Contact import (optional). If you import people from your address book, Foster reads the contacts you pick (name, photo, phone number, birthday) once and stores them on your device. Nothing from your address book is uploaded, and Foster never notifies the people you add.
Reminders. Reminders are scheduled and delivered by the app on your device. No reminder content leaves your phone.
Backups. You can export a backup file from the Privacy screen. It is written to your device and handed to the share sheet. Photos are not included.
Anonymous usage statistics. Foster counts app starts and similar events so we can see how the app is used. Each event carries a random install ID created by the app, the app version, the app language, the platform and, if you came from one of our other apps, which one. No name, no device ID, nothing about the people in your list. It goes to our own analytics server (Cloudflare).
Install counter (RevenueCat). The RevenueCat SDK receives a random, app-generated user ID so we can see how many devices run Foster. Nothing is sold through it.
Support chat (optional). Only if you write to us under Help and feedback: your message, the app version, the platform, the device model, the app language and an anonymous account ID are stored by Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). Messages may be machine-translated (Google Gemini) so we can read and answer them. If you allow notifications for replies, a push token for your device is stored and Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers the notification; turning it off removes the token. Quick feedback notes go with the app version, device model and app language to our feedback server (Cloudflare) and on to a private support channel.
Our other apps. The "More Studio Apps" list is downloaded from catalog.clearpointstudios.at. This request sends nothing about you.
Permissions. Contacts (only to import people you pick), notifications (reminders and support replies), microphone (voice memos, stored on your device). All optional.
No ads, no tracking. Foster contains no advertising SDKs and no behavioural tracking. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Retention and deletion. On-device data stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall Foster. Support messages are kept until the ticket is closed or you ask us to delete them. Write to us and we delete anything we hold within 30 days.
Children. Foster is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes. If we change this policy in a material way, we will note the updated date above.
