People roster
Everyone in your life organized by closeness tier, with a health bar and quick one-tap actions.
Foster tracks who matters, when you last reached out, and what's going on in their lives. It gives you a quiet nudge before a friendship goes cold, so you never lose touch by accident.
The core idea
Most friendships don't end in a fight. They just quietly drift because life gets busy and nobody reached out. Foster tracks the rhythm of each relationship and surfaces exactly who is worth a message today, before the silence becomes the habit.
You set how often you want to stay in touch with each person. Foster computes a health from how far through that rhythm you are, using warm language only, never "overdue."
A gentle daily list of who the rhythm says is worth reaching out to, plus your open follow-ups and the dates coming up. One tap to log, snooze or complete.
Inner Circle, Close, Network, Dormant. A Dormant-tier person carries no cadence and is never nudged, kept close, not chased.
Notes, milestones, their partner and kids, interests, preferred channel, and a full searchable log of every call, coffee and voice note.
Built for real life
Today
A warm greeting every morning. Exactly who the rhythm says is worth reaching out to, your open follow-ups with due dates, what birthdays and anniversaries are coming up, and a quiet place for people you have snoozed. One tap to log, complete or push to later.
Moments
The cross-person timeline of your relationship life. Every call, coffee, voice note, and the little facts worth remembering, grouped by when they happened. Search your entire history in one place to find that thing someone mentioned six months ago.
Occasions
Birthdays, anniversaries and milestones in one calendar. A gift-idea board per person with lead-time reminders, and a record of what you have already given so you never repeat yourself. Every upcoming date visible from Today too.
The reason it exists
Foster is a deliberate, warm, private place to be a better friend. It doesn't publish anything, compare you to anyone, or treat your relationships as data to harvest.
Most friendships don't end with a decision. They just fade because both sides got busy and nobody happened to reach out first. Foster makes that first move easier, before the silence sets in.
You want to ask about someone's new job, their dog's recovery, or what happened with that thing they mentioned. Foster keeps those notes so you always have something real to say.
A birthday reminder is just a date. Foster surfaces the right gift ideas, the history you share, and the things that matter to that person, so a quick message becomes something they'll remember.
The notes you keep here are tender and private. Foster is local-first, never ad-supported, and your relationships are never the product. The quiet layer of care is on your device, not a server.
Everything you need
Everyone in your life organized by closeness tier, with a health bar and quick one-tap actions.
Birthdays, anniversaries and milestones sit on one timeline, with lead-time reminders on Today.
Specific intentions with due dates, separate from cadence nudges. "Check how her interview went" lands on Today when it's due.
Everything on your device. No account required. Optional encrypted backup. Never mined, never sold.
Idea lists per person with a record of past gifts, so you never accidentally repeat yourself on a birthday.
How warm your whole circle is, 8-week reach-out chart, tier balance, and who is quietly drifting.
Every call, coffee, voice note and remembered fact, searchable across all the people you care about.
Set how often you want to stay in touch with each person. Foster adjusts for life changes without ever nagging.
Good to know
Yes, all of it. Every feature, for every person in your circle, with no ceiling on how many people you keep close. There is no Pro tier, no subscription and no in-app purchase. No ads, ever.
No account is required. Foster is local-first and works entirely offline. Everything is on your device. Foster never needs an internet connection.
Your people, notes, moments and history live on your device. Foster does not send your data to a server and does not require a cloud account to function. If you choose encrypted backup, your data is end-to-end encrypted before it leaves your phone, and only you hold the key.
A cadence is your desired contact rhythm for a person, for example "every two weeks." Foster computes a health score from how far through that rhythm you are and surfaces that person on Today when the time is right. A follow-up is a specific intention with a due date, like "check how her interview went on Friday." Both appear on Today, but they are tracked separately.
Foster is not a contacts replacement and does not connect to social networks. You add people intentionally. There is no social graph, no web of who-knows-whom, and nobody gets notified when you add them. An optional contact import reads your phone's contact list once to help you set people up faster, without any ongoing sync.
No. Foster uses warm language only. There is no "overdue" counter, no streak to protect, no shame if life gets busy. Dormant-tier people carry no cadence and are never nudged. The tone is always a gentle suggestion, never pressure.
Yes. You can export everything as plain files at any time, or delete all your data in one tap. No dark patterns, no lock-in, no hostage data.
Foster is currently in final development. We will announce availability here first. The app is Android-first, with iOS compatibility planned for a future release.
Foster is free on Google Play. No account required.
